If you’ve ever had an everything but the kitchen sink cookie, you’ll love this Christmas version. These everything but the Christmas tree cookies have all the best elements of the kitchen sink cookies, but make them so Christmasy.
The beautiful thing about these cookies is that you can make them whatever you want. Whatever random Christmas treats you have on hand that your neighbors have dropped off, throw it in! The one nonnegotiable for me is the potato chips. They give a very distinct salt and crunch that really makes these cookies, so please don’t leave those out. My second favorite mix-in in these is the peppermint pretzels. They give another good crunch factor and some really great Christmas flavor. Other than that, you can add what you want! I really like the combo I did here, I think it’s well balanced and has a good amount of Christmas flavor, so you can start with my combo if you want!

Ingredients
cookie dough
- 1/2 cup 113 g salted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup 108g brown sugar, dark or light
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups 172 g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
mix-ins
- 1/2 cup potato chips
- 1/4 cup christmas peppermint pretzels
- 1/4 cup candy cane oreos
- 1/4 cup christmas m&m’s
- 2 tablespoons christmas sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
- Add the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar to a large bowl. Use a stand mixer or hand mixer to mix until well combined, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until the flour is just combined. The dough will be quite sticky.
- Use your hands or a knife to crush the potato chips, oreos, and pretzels into smaller pieces. Add them to the dough. Add the m&m's and sprinkles. Mix on low until the mix-ins are just combined.
- Use a large cookie scoop to scoop out the dough. Place up to 5 dough balls on each cookie sheet, evenly spaced apart.
- Transfer to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are just starting to brown and the center looks set. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
