bruleed grapefruit

This bruleed grapefruit is such an easy way to elevate any brunch. Made with sugar sprinkled on top then broiled to perfection, this is my favorite way to eat grapefruit! This recipe is part of my “perfect brunch” and it absolutely deserves a spot at the table.

ingredients needed for bruleed grapefruit

  • 1 grapefruit
  • 2 tsp sugar

how to make bruleed grapefruit

  1. Preheat the oven to broil on high.
  2. Cut the grapefruit in half then use a small pairing knife to cut around each segment of grapefruit (so it is easier to get out).
  3. Sprinkle each half with about 1 tbsp of sugar, evenly across the top.
  4. Transfer the grapefruits to a baking sheet and broil for 2-5 minutes, until the sugar has melted. Keep a close eye on the grapefruit so they don’t burn!
  5. Let them cool for a few minutes and enjoy while they’re hot.

because why choose one when you can have both?? here is the recipe for both:

caramel coconut:
- 1 Quaker® caramel rice cake
- 1 teaspoon hazelnut butter
- 3 dates
- 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla paste
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon hot water
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
- flaky salt
add the dates, coconut, vanilla paste, and salt to a food processor. blend until the dates start to break down, then add the hot water and blend until a paste forms. set aside. place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a bowl and microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. top the Quaker® caramel rice cake with the hazelnut butter, the coconut date mixture, and drizzle with chocolate. top with flaky salt then transfer to the fridge to set up for about 10 minutes. enjoy!
