chilled peach pie cookies

chilled peach pie cookies

last updated on October 29, 2026

For the next cookie in my series “cookies inspired by tv shows and movies,” we are making Ginny and Georgia chilled peach pie cookies! I am obsessed with these cookies. They might be my favorite of this whole series! And that is saying something because I am terrible at choosing favorites. But I think theses are IT.

let’s talk details about these cookies

  • The base of this cookie is an oatmeal cookie base, so it is thick and chewy, in the best of ways. They remind me of my cinnamon oatmeal cookies, but a cold, summery version!
  • The frosting is a buttercream frosting infused with peach juice. It spreads on smoothly and tastes creamy.
  • Of course we top everything off with a few slices of peach and a dash of cinnamon! If it is peach season, obviously use fresh peaches! But if it is not, canned peaches work great as well.

If you are wondering why these cookies are chilled, I promise they are 10x better cold. They set up so well in the fridge and you bite into a cold, fresh, oatmeal + peach flavored bite. AH. My mouth is watering just thinking about them! I really hope you make them.

[PREP] 30 minutes
[COOK] 12 minutes

Ingredients

oatmeal cookie base

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp plain greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

peach frosting & topping

  • 1/2 cup butter room temp
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp plain greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1-2 tsp peach juice
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 fresh peaches or 1 can of peaches thinly sliced
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325. Add butter and both sugars to a bowl. Mix for 2-3 minutes. Add greek yogurt, eggs, and vanilla and mix until combined.
  2. Add flour, rolled oats, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder. Mix until dough is just combined. Using a large (1/4 cup) cookie scoop, scoop the dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake at 325 for 10-13 minutes. The cookies will still look a little doughy when you take them out of the oven — this is perfect. After the cookies cool for 5 minutes, transfer them to the fridge to finish cooling.
  4. While the cookies cool, make the frosting. Add the butter to a bowl and mix for 3-4 minutes. Add powdered sugar, greek yogurt, vanilla, peach juice, and salt, and mix an additional 3-4 minutes. The frosting should be smooth and easy to spread.
  5. Frost each cookie and top with a few slices of peach. Dust the cookies with cinnamon and transfer to the fridge to chill for at least 30 minutes. Keep in the fridge until you’re ready to serve them. These cookies are best cold! Enjoy!

super delicious cookies!! added a tsp more of peach juice to the frosting for a more peachy flavor but they were delicious! mine didn’t spread much in the oven so I flattened them with the bottom of a drinking glass after pulling them out of the oven 🙂 thanks for the great recipe!!

I cannot let a single soul live their life without knowing about these COOKIES! I have made this recipe a dozen times and it ALWAYS gets compliments. The base of the cookie is so addicting and has the best texture. The frosting is incredible. The peach on top is so unique and delicious! I’ve even swapped the peaches on top for raspberries or jam (and honestly eaten them just frosted too). This might be my favorite recipe ever from palatable life.

Can these be made gluten free by using 1-1 gluten free flour?

    1. thepalatablelife
      Reply

yes, that should work! i’d do the same amount of flour with the 1:1 and they should turn out great.

Base cookie is delish!! Great texture. Mine needed about 8 more min in the oven. The frosting was too sweet for my taste and didn’t have enough peachy flavor. Seems like a good start and I’m excited to try again with a different frosting!

These are truly the best cookies to ever exist. I’ve made them for so many people and everyone always raves about them and asks for the recipe!! The one change I make is browning the butter for the frosting, and then I usually add just a little less powdered sugar so they’re not too sweet. One of my friends said she’s also made these but topped them with berries and they were amazing like that too!! If you haven’t made these yet, you NEED to!!!

Can the dough for the cookies be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge? Or would you recommend baking the cookies and storing them before assembling or assembling with the frosting and keeping in the fridge for a few days?

      Reply

hi! there are a couple options for prepping ahead of time. if you only need to keep the cookies for an hour or so, you can fully assemble and keep in the fridge. if you need to keep them for a few days, you can bake off the cookies and keep them in the fridge, just keep everything separate — so you can make the frosting as well, but just keep it in a sealable container in the fridge, then assemble right before serving! alternatively, you can make the dough balls and keep them in the fridge in a sealable container for up to a week, then bake, assemble, and serve!
