pumpkin steamer

THIS PUMPKIN STEAMER IS EVERYTHING YOU NEED THIS FALL. It is warm, it is cozy, and it tastes like fall in a cup.

The second pumpkin flavors drop at Starbucks everyone is running there to get all the fall drinks, but let me tell you — this pumpkin steamer is better than the Starbucks one, and much healthier. So save your money and make it at home! Starbucks uses several pumps of full sugar pumpkin sauce which makes theirs loaded with sugar. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against a good sugar-filled dessert (have you seen my cookies?), but this pumpkin steamer is the kind of thing I want to drink every night, so it is better for all of us to make this much healthier version!

what is in this pumpkin steamer?

  • almond milk (any type of milk will work!)
  • pumpkin puree
  • maple syrup
  • pumpkin pie spice

That is it! It is so simple, but seriously the best. I love using almond milk, but any type of milk will do.

how do i make this pumpkin steamer?

This pumpkin steamer is ridiculously easy to make. Add everything to a pot, then whisk it together over medium heat. Watch it closely and when it looks like it is about to boil, take it off the heat. At this point you can pour it straight into your cups, but I suggest pouring it into a blender or using a milk frother to make it frothier, and then pour it into your cups! The extra step isn’t necessary, but makes a difference and I suggest taking it. Then, I like to top it all off with a little whipped cream and an extra dash of pumpkin pie spice.

where do i find pumpkin pie spice?

You can buy pumpkin pie spice at almost any grocery store! However, the cheapest place I’ve seen it is Trader Joe’s. They have a great pumpkin pie spice and I think it’s only $2. If you can’t find pumpkin pie spice anywhere, you can also make it yourself. This is simple recipe for pumpkin pie spice that will work great in this recipe.
